Been years since I blogged. Been too busy working and carrying on. But had a bad fall just before Christmas and broke my right wrist. Had to have surgery with pins and plate so not too good for a massage therapist. Of course that forced me into retirement. Been talking about it for 10 years or so. So here I am back in Ecuador, my happy place. I was a little nervous travelling by myself with only one hand and lots of luggage but my niece Melanie drove me Sault Ste. Marie to her place in Fergus, an hour from the airport. Helped me repack my luggage and drove me to the airport the next day in the middle of the worst snow storm in years. It was terrifying. My brother Gary who is married in Ecuador, picked me up at the Quito airport and drove me all the way to Crucita. I am a lucky girl.
I have an absolutely beautiful condo right on the ocean and there is a pool. Temperature is 26C and lovely breeze off the ocean. I am having some dental work done down here and saving thousands. I am totally out of shape as I have not been able to walk outside with the ice in northern Ontario in January and cannot drive for another 3 months. I figured I would much rather be in Ecuador where I can walk on the beach and swim in the pool. A little dangerous for me this year in the ocean. The waves can grab you and take you out. They had their first Surfer Festival last month here in Crucita, my favourite little beach town. Tomorrow is a Seafood Festival. Of course we will be going to that. We have a fisherman who lives a 5 minute walk away who sells us fresh seafood from his house. Awesome.
I need to go pour a glass of wine and watch the sunset right now. We have the best sunsets here.......
