Looks like we were very successful in booking a flight first thing this morning thanks to my big brother Gary Barkley. I may be coming home Sunday the 29th. Not sure what's going to happen in Toronto yet but I am booked on Air Canada for the 29th to Toronto. We have a driver booked to take us on the 28th to Quito and we have a hotel booked 28 in the evening. Hopefully we can get ball all the checkpoints and get through the Andes Mountains by 2 oclock curfew. If all goes well I may be out of here soon. I am happy and I'm so sad to leave this paradise but happy to be heading back to home soil. The not knowing what is going to happen next is hard on my nerves. Not sure how the quarantine is going to go. Either I get quarantined for two weeks in Toronto and then two weeks at home. Or if I'm really lucky, I get to fly home to Sault Saint Marie and quarantine in my own home for two weeks. I feel very happy and healthy to be going home soon.. Dont get me wrong I LOVE ECUADOR. My tutor taught me to say "Me encanta Ecuador " meaning I really love Ecuador. " Or I am enchanted with Equator.
Well another update. A couple of the people here that are going home were just informed by their roommates that they will have to go somewhere else to self isolate before returning home. It just goes on and on...........Holy crap. Where do you go?
