Skunks

Well, my dog with the long, very long, white fur, just got sprayed by a skunk.  As did my lab. My trip out to the ranch tonight did not go so well. Went on line to find the best remedy and it was a combination of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and liquid soap but unfortunately, out here in boonie land, I do not have any peroxide and the closest all night drug store is an hour drive away. So, next best thing is tomato juice but no, I don't have that. I do have clamato juice though. So I have made myself a Caesar and thinking of putting the dog in the garage and waiting until tomorrow to deal with this SHIT!!!

Oh yeah, and another thing. My neighbour told me I must get myself a cat for the mouse problem here in the country. I told him that I am allergic to cats and he told me that you just leave them outside and feed them and they keep coming back and live in the barns and outbuildings and eat the mice. So a client in town today told me he had a cat that he was catsitting for till he could find a home and I said, Yes, I need a cat. So I end up with this cat today to bring out to the country. This is what the guy thinks. The cat is going to a nice country home. Little does he know, I just want to put him outside and see if he can make it living with coyotes, and wolves, and get his fair share of the mice. The cat gets delivered to my house and he is the most beautiful cat I have ever seen. Black and white and fluffy and friendly, and wow, I fall in love already. Put him in the little kitty delivery luggage and head out with the dogs in the back of the Subaru wagon. The dogs really want to check this animal out and perhaps eat him. Perhaps chase him for a long while. The cat is very scared and makes very strange loud noises, and I put my hand in the carrier to calm him down, This works well for awhile but then as we are speeding down the highway, he gets very agitated and is shrieking and bouncing this nice little cloth carrier bag all over the seat. I tell him , it is OK buddy, I am taking you to a nice home in the country. There goes my integrity that I have worked so long on. Now, I am lying to cats.

So when we are close to the nice home in the country, I let the dogs out to run the rest of the way beside the car to get all their energy out so they won't eat the cat when we arrive. Unfortunately, a little skunk is close by this is when my long white haired dog chases it and gets sprayed in the face. I haven't realized this at this point as this is happening outside of the car . I have let the cat out of the bag and realize that he is wet from the waist down. He was so scared in his little bag that he PISSED HIMSELF. Great!! Now he is crawling all over me to alleviate his fears, and I am sniffling and sneezing and smelling like urine.

Ok, one double Caesar down, think I will have one more before I go out and put that dog in the garage before the coyotes eat him. Yes, just another fun night in the country of Beventureland. One more thing, the cat of course is inside because I cannot put him in the garage or outside with the coyotes just yet when he doesn't even know where he is and it is dark out. And I don't really want him to be an outside cat because he is so beautiful but I ask you this. Would it be better to put an UGLY cat outside, or maybe a deformed cat???? Just because he is good looking, he gets a place in my heart and my house??? A little shallow no???
