Porter and Donovan Woods

Image may contain: outdoorWhen i flew home from Ottawa to Sault Ste. Marie after Christmas on Porter Airlines, I had a magical flight. You have to listen to the song on the bottom of this message.
One of the things I had to do in Ottawa, besides spending some awesome time with family, was to buy a vehicle. I spent 10 frustrating days trying to find the perfect vehicle in my price range. I solicited the advice from family and friends as my knowledge in this field is limited. I thought I had the right one and was planning the 10 hour drive home the next day when I found it that it had a blown head gasket and needed $2000 worth of work. Arggghhhh. I hate winter driving. Ottawa was experiencing freezing rain and the forecast for the soo was snow blizzards for the next 5 days. I was supposed to be working the next day.
Just then my brother Vern texted me, Why don't you come home and buy one. That was just what I needed to hear. I was on the next flight home which left in 3 hours so I had one hour to pack and get going and arrange a ride to the airport. It was sad to leave my lovely daughter Kiesha Pelletier and my granddaughter Emma but off we went to the big bird in the sky. I was stressing trying to figure out if I was doing the right thing. I was sure I could get a better deal in Ottawa but................I also did not want to drive. I am sure God made that weather happen so I was forced to fly.
So I run into the airport happy I don't have any checked bags and find out we are delayed due to the skating rink tarmack and they have to deice the plane. They allow us to board but we have to sit for awhile. All I can think of is hurry up with the free wine which they can't bring around till we are in the air. There are only about 20 people on the flight. So off we go and the lovely male steward pours me a big glass of white. I am asking him what kind of wine it is as I enjoyed it on the flight down from the Soo. He explained it is a Jackson Triggs Chardonney and that the red Cabernet Franc is very good as well. So I down the white and ask as he is going by if I can try the red. Of course he says and pours me a glass and sits across from me and we talk wine talk. How nice. It was evening and the lights were dimmed. It felt like I was on a private jet. I told him that I was having a bit of a panic attack because we left so late that I was worried I may miss the connecting flight in Toronto which was in fact supposed to leave in 20 minutes. He smiled as said, Don't you worry about a thing. I will call ahead and tell them to hold the plane. You just enjoy your wine and poured me my 3rd glass. Whopee. I apparently needed that.
When we arrived in Toronto, I ran from one end of the little island airport to the other and jumped on the place. They closed the doors right behind me. I looked around and there were only a handful of people on this flight. So I stood there and counted pointing it out. 7 I said out loud and everyone laughed. We were all still in the Christmas spirit. Well, I may have had a little more spirit than the others but who's counting. Me I guess. So I take it another step and say, Well you know what that means..... More wine for us!!! And everyone laughs some more. I certainly was having fun. Best flight ever. Then I proceeded getting 2 more glasses of wine. The lights were dimmed and I truly was in my own private jet in my own mind. Thank goodness I could walk off the plane. I may have been skipping. But as I was grabbing my carryons on the plane they had this music playing. I just loved the song. And it was about Sault Ste. Marie. It truly was a magical flight. Here is the song. Thank you Porter and thank you Donovan Woods.
